**UPDATE** S76-A has max take off wgt of 10,500 lbs in civilian config. Certified in 1976 at 10,000lbs, raised to 10,300 early 1980's. It has Rolls Royce Allison 250 C30's putting out 850 hp each. A modification called the S 76 A "plus" uses Tubomeca Ariel engines. The S76 B is the only one to use P&W PT6 engines and is not popular. The factory is turning out S76-C "plus" now and the air frame is now made in Czechoslovakia. That model is powered by 2 upgraded Ariel engines. It is assembled in West Pam Beach, FL. Take off wgt for the C+ is 11,300 lbs.
