| These were demo helicopters that were done as mock ups for the US Army. the D-255 looked like a cross between the Mil Hind and a Cobra. | |||
| The subsequent version the D-262 looked more like the modern day Cobra in design and was scalled down in design. It was entered in the AAFSS (Advanced Aerial Fire support System) competition but lost to Lockheed and Sikorsky. | |||
